Major League Lacrosse Announces 2015 All-Star Game Charity Beneficiary

HOUSTON (May 29, 2015) - Major League Lacrosse, the premier professional lacrosse league, announced today that Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston (BGCGH) will be the beneficiary of Major League Lacrosse's annual All-Star Game jersey auction donation.
For the first time ever, Major League Lacrosse will begin taking the field in Houston, Texas. 2015 MLL All-Star Game will be played on June 13, 2015 at BBVA Compass Stadium. The game-worn jerseys from the match will be auctioned by Major League Lacrosse via their eBay auction site. One-hundred percent of the net proceeds from the online auction will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston. The auction will begin at 6:00pm CT at the start of the All-Star Game and will run for a period of ten days. Game-worn autographed jerseys from each of the forty MLL players plus a team autographed version of each jersey will be available for bidding. Continuing a long-standing tradition of generosity, the New Balance Foundation will be matching the net proceeds raised by the auction with a donation to BGCGH.
"We are very excited for our Club members to participate in this unique opportunity with Major League Lacrosse and proud to be chosen as the benefitting charity of this major event in Houston," said Kevin Hattery, president & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston. "Funds raised during the MLL auction will directly benefit our 15 Clubs located throughout the Greater Houston region and help us provide after-school and summer programs to more than 12,000 youth this year."
In addition to the charity auction, MLL will be teaming up with All-Star Game sponsor Pappasito's Cantina to host a number of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston members for a once in a lifetime All-Star Game experience, including a special viewing section of the stadium titled "Pappas Kids". The Boys & Girls Club members participating in Pappas Kids will be treated to a special pre-game meal hosted by Pappas Restaurants as well as the opportunity to meet with select MLL All-Stars prior to the game.
