Major Indoor Soccer League Roars Into Reading

READING, PA - Professional indoor soccer roars into Reading when the Pennsylvania Roar take the field at the Sovereign Center in November. The Major Indoor Soccer League announced their newest franchise in a press release July 24. The club was officially unveiled at a press conference held today at the Sovereign Center. "We are excited to bring a major league sports franchise to area. I was pleased to see many community leaders, elected officials, and sports fans at the press conference today. I look forward to our inaugural season and our involvement in Reading and surrounding areas." Said Pennsylvania Roar Owner/CEO Glen Goldstein.

The Roar will join MISL teams in Baltimore, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Rochester, Syracuse and the MISL's other expansion team located in suburban St. Louis. The 2013-14 Roar season will consist of 20 games. The team will play all 10 home games at the Sovereign Center, which will be renamed Santander Arena by the time the season begins.

Glen Goldstein was introduced at the press conference as the club's new owner, along with his wife Dawn. Goldstein is President and CEO of The Goldstein Group, a data management and software development company. Dawn is a practicing attorney. The couple are also part of the ownership group of the St. Louis franchise. Glen, Dawn and their children are not just huge sports fans but are themselves products of the sports scene having participated in baseball, softball, basketball, tennis, gymnastics, cheerleading and of course, soccer.

Goldstein said the team will be announcing tryouts soon and are currently searching for a Head Coach and front office personnel.
