Maine's Chris Wright Named NBA Development League Performer of the Week

NEW YORK, March 4, 2013 - Chris Wright of the Maine Red Claws was today named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Feb. 24 - March 3.
Wright (6-8, 225, Dayton) averaged 23.0 points on 19-of-35 shooting from the field to go with 11.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals as the Red Claws went 2-0 on the week. Wright has posted 11 rebounds in three consecutive games. On March 3, with 2.3 seconds remaining, Wright came up with a block on Erik Daniels to secure a 102-101 victory over the Erie BayHawks. The back-to-back wins over the BayHawks have pushed the Red Claws into a virtual tie for the eighth and final playoff spot with just over a month to play.
A 2013 NBA D-League All-Star, Wright is averaging 18.2 points, 9.6 rebounds and 35.4 minutes in 28 games for the Red Claws. This is the second time Wright has received Player of the Week honors this season.
Other top performers considered include Austin's JaMychal Green, Bakersfield's Mike Scott, Canton's Kyle Gibson, Erie's D.J. Kennedy, Fort Wayne's Ron Howard, Idaho's Justin Holiday, Iowa's Paul Harris, Los Angeles' Courtney Fortson, Reno's Samardo Samuels, Rio Grande Valley's Andrew Goudelock, Santa Cruz's Cameron Jones, Sioux Falls' James Mays, Springfield's Tornike Shengelia, Texas' Justin Dentmon and Tulsa's Jeremy Lamb on assignment from the Oklahoma City Thunder.
