MAINEiacs Victorious Over Huskies 5-3

Lewiston MAINEiacs News Release


Lewiston, ME - The Lewiston MAINEiacs finished their last game before the Christmas break victorious tonight, beating the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies by a score of 5-3. The game was fast paced and in no way lacked excitement. The Huskies started the scoring early in the first period with a power play goal by Nicolas Lafontaine at the 1:34 mark. The MAINEiacs retaliated with two quick goals - the first at 13:47 by Mathieu Aubin and the second by Jonathan Piement at 14:18. Paiement did not waste any time to get things started in the second - scoring only 1:31 into the period with assists by Marc-Andre Cliché and Mathieu Aubin. The Huskies narrowed the lead with a goal by Justin Munden at 4:49 of that period. However, Lewiston notched another power play goal at 15:10 by Marc-Andre Cliche.

Rouyn-Noranda came within one goal in the third period when Yannik Riendeau scored at 3:57. At 16:33 Jonathan Paiement sealed the win with his hat trick goal with assists going to Cliché and Castonguay.
