Lewiston MAINEiacs News Release

Lewiston, ME - The Lewiston MAINEiacs came back from an early Cape Breton goal to pull off a 5-4 win in front of 2,906 fans tonight at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. At only 17 seconds into the first period, Screaming Eagle Chris Culligan tickled the twine to get the quick lead. MAINEiacs scoring leader, Stefano Giliati leveled the playing field at 16:57 on a penalty shot after being hauled down on a break away attempt. Then only ten seconds later, once again Gilitati lit the lamp to end the first period 2-1.

Back and forth hockey was played for the majority of the second until the final minute of play when MAINEiacs forward Danick Paquette notched a pair of goals thirty seconds apart which ended the second with a score of 4-1

In the third period Lewiston opened scoring at 15:57 with a goal by Billy Lacasse which wrapped up the scoring for Lewiston. Cape Breton never let up and scored three unanswered goals in the final few minutes of play but was not enough to swipe the win from the MAINEiacs.
