MAINEiacs Acquire Brett Gallant from Saint John

Lewiston, ME - The Lewiston MAINEiacs have once again pulled the trigger on a blockbuster trade. The Lewiston MAINEiacs have acquired Saint John Sea Dogs left winger Brett Gallant for a sixth round draft pick in the 2009 QMJHL entry draft. Head Coach & General Manager Ed Harding made the announcement on Friday morning at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee.

"Brett has a lot of experience in this league, he really knows how to handle the grind of competing on the road. He adds another element of toughness to the Lewiston line up" said Coach Harding. When asked about the trade MAINEiacs President & Governor Matt McKnight touted Gallant as one of the toughest players in the league.

Gallant was recruited by Saint John during the 2005-2006 season. In 57 games with Saint John last season, Gallant notched 175 penalty minutes on the ice, 23 of those minutes coming against the MAINEiacs. The former Sea Dog is expected to arrive at MAINEiacs camp next week.
