Charlotte, NC -- Missionary Athletes International (MAI) has a passion to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ by using the sport of soccer as a bridge for sharing that message with people around the world. MAI began in 1983 in California, and is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

MAI has a 25-year history of sports ministry with a proven record of using soccer as an effective tool for ministry. During this time, tens of thousands of children have participated in MAI camps where they received Bible teaching and the presentation of the Gospel. In addition, over 100 International Tours have ministered successfully in countries on six continents. MAI has full- time staff presently in the United States, Thailand and the Ukraine. Short-term missionaries have been to Brazil, Colombia, Czech Republic, Ethiopia, India, Mexico and Uruguay, among other countries. MAI is currently seeking a full-time Director of Development to be based in its Charlotte office.

This person will work closely with MAI's senior leadership team to develop relationships with individuals who feel the Lord is leading them to provide financial support. This will enable MAI to further fulfill its vision and mission. Reporting to the President/C.E.O., this person will be a part of the senior leadership team of MAI.

Candidates will have at least three years of experience in fundraising for a Christian ministry, preferably in a faith-support environment. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a history of increasing fundraising revenue over several years with budgets of over $350,000 per year.

Candidates should be effective communicators and have a demonstrated ability to obtain foundation grants and build relationships with major donors. Experience working successfully in raising funds within the Charlotte donor community and achieving results with a small base is preferred.
