Magic Cause Heartache for Piasa

December 12, 2011 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL)
Illinois Piasa News Release

If one thing is proving true this season, anytime the Illinois Piasa and the Kansas Magic play each other, it's

going to be a close game. The Piasa have played the magic 3 times this season, losing the first two games, 11-9 and 4-3. With the Piasa finally finding their form, the team was looking for a different result this time around. Unfortunately things once again did not go their way when they met up against the Magic Saturday night. The Piasa lost another close game against the Magic, dropping this one by the score of 7-6.

But Saturday night's result seemed to be the biggest heartache this season for the Piasa as a victory seemed certain.

The Piasa entered the 4th Period tied 4-4, but within the first 4 minutes Roger Gemoules scored 2 goals to put

the Piasa up 6-4. The game remained that way until the 10th minute when the Magic scored 2 goals in one minute to tie it up. And then, in the 13th minute, the Magic scored a goal to put them ahead and the Piasa just could not answer within the time remaining.

Roger Gemoules led the Piasa with 3 goals and 1 assist. Andrews, Anzalone and Judiscak scored the other goals for the team.

The Piasa will now head out for a 4 game road trip, starting this Friday when they will play Ohio that night and the following night as well. Then the team will travel to Louisville on Saturday, January 7 and a day game against Detroit on Sunday, January 8.
