Maddock Leads Free Baseball Clinics for Young Flyers Fans

Schaumburg, IL - Manager Steve Maddock and the Schaumburg Flyers have teamed up with Joy of the Game in Buffalo Grove and Play Ball USA in Des Plaines to break down the fundamentals of baseball. Maddock and members of the 2007 Flyers will be hosting free baseball clinics at the two baseball academies as part of the Flyers Caravan.
Each clinic will feature lessons in hitting, pitching and fielding and will be followed by an autograph session. The Flyers will be joined by members of each facility's coaching staff.
Maddock and members of the team will teach at Joy of the Game in Buffalo Grove on Saturday, February 17 at 6:00 pm. It is located at 1455 Busch Parkway in Buffalo Grove. FlyersFest Set For Sunday, February 18
FlyersFest, the 7th annual off-season fan party, has been announced for Sunday, February 18, 2007. FlyersFest will once again be held at the Eaglewood Resort & Spa in Itasca and will feature the first opportunity for the Flyer faithful to meet their new manager, Steve Maddock. Maddock will appear along with local Schaumburg Flyers players. Flyers' mascot Bearon will be in attendance along with Jazzi the Clown. The event begins at 1:00 PM and will last until 3:00 PM. Tickets for this year's event are on sale for $5 at the Alexian Field Ticket Office. Tickets will also be made available at the door for $7.
The Flyers home opener is Friday, May 25 when they host the defending champion Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. The 2007 Schaumburg Flyers schedule is available at www.flyersbaseball.com.
