Machine's Tom Schreiber Named to All-MLL Team

Ohio Machine News Release
COLUMBUS, OHIO (August 7, 2015) - Major League Lacrosse announced today that Ohio Machine midfielder Tom Schreiber was named to the 2015 All-MLL Team. Schreiber earned the honor after his first full season in MLL and leading all midfielders in points (60), and assists (30). Schreiber's 30 assist were tied with Machine teammate Steele Stanwick and New York's Rob Pannell for the league lead.
"I really think this honor is a result of great team play," Schreiber said. "A lot of my play is focused on moving the ball and making the next pass. We had a great group of finishers and running with Peter (Baum) and Kyle (Harrison) in the midfield helps me and takes the pressure off. Our team is unique because you can't focus on one guy. The talent around me helped me have a great season but my success is much more about the guys around me."
Schreiber is one of three midfielders to be named to the roster of 12 on the All-MLL Team. Appearing in all 15 games for the Machine this season, the second year midfielder out of Princeton led the potent Ohio offense all season. Schreiber's 60 points were a club record for points in a season, as were his 30 assists. Schreiber became only the second midfielder in MLL history to lead the league in assists.
"I truly believe that Tom is the most balance and impactful midfielder in the game," Machine Vice President & Head Coach Bear Davis said. "He is extremely deserving of this honor and the season he had in 2015 will go down as one of the best ever for a midfielder."
During the regular season, Schreiber was the only Machine player to score at least one goal in every game in 2015. His season was highlighted by an eight point, seven assist game at Denver on May 29. Schreiber becomes the third Machine player to earn All-MLL Team honors. Midfielder Peter Baum was named All-MLL following the 2014 season while former defenseman Kyle Hartzell was named to the 2012 All-MLL Team.
2015 marked the Machine's fourth season in MLL and the team's second consecutive playoff appearance. Finishing the regular season with a 9-5 record, the team set club records for wins in a season and finished second in the final standings.
