
Machine Players Named to All-Star Team

COLUMBUS, Ohio (June 13, 2012) - The Ohio Machine announced today that Head Coach Ted Garber and players Greg Bice, Kyle Hartzell, Chazz Woodson and Jim Connolly will be representing the Machine during the 2012 MLL All-Star Game presented by Moe's Southwest Grill at Florida Atlantic University Stadium. The Machine also announced that 2011 Tewaaraton winner Steele Stanwick and fellow rookie Marshall Burkhart will make their MLL debuts this weekend on Saturday, June 16, against the Long Island Lizards.
Steele Stanwick ended his college tenure at University of Virginia leading the country in assists with 51 and was named a Tewaaraton Award Finalist after being drafted by the Machine second overall. Stanwick will take the field on Saturday wearing number 66. Dublin Jerome High School alum Marshall Burkhart, who will be wearing number 28, will a lso be making his debut this Saturday after finishing his senior season as co-captain and anchoring one of the country's best defenses at Johns Hopkins University.
Head Coach Ted Garber will lead Team Old School with Bice, Hartzell and Woodson on the field and will be going up against Connolly playing for Team Young Guns on Saturday, June 30, in Palm Beach County, Florida.
Team Old School:
- Bice, who is now a four-time MLL All Star and co-captain for the Machine, has started in five games this year, scooping up 12 groundballs and tallying his first point of the season against the Charlotte Hounds on May 12.
- Hartzell enters into his second MLL All-Star Game after being named the 2011 MLL Fastest Shot Champion at last year's MLL All-Star Game. Hartzell has played in all of the Machine's five games this year with four goals, including three two-point goals, and has scooped up 13 ground balls.
- Woodson, co-captain of the Machine, has been named to his first MLL All-Star team since 2008 and leads the Machine in points (16) and goals (13) this season. In 2008, Woodson was crowned the MLL All-Star Best Trick Competition Champion.
Team Young Guns:
- Connolly has been named to the MLL All-Star team for the first time in his MLL career. Connolly is third on the Machine in goals scored (5) and points (12) in his first season with the Machine.
The Machine takes on the Long Island Lizards in a rematch this Saturday, June 16, at 7 p.m. at Selby Stadium in Delaware, OH.
