Lynn Family Stadium Lights up Blue Tonight
April 9, 2020 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Louisville City FC News Release
Lynn Family Stadium will turn BLUE tonight, joining with thousands of prominent landmark buildings across the country tonight as a THANK YOU to all the healthcare professionals and other first responders who are risking their own health to save people made seriously ill by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The initiative, which started in the United Kingdom last month and is coming to America for the first time tonight, is part of the #LightItBlue campaign. More information about the campaign can be found here: https://www.loucity.com/news_article/show/1100395
Louisville City and NWSL Louisville are joining in a global show of support and gratitude to health care professionals and essential workers caring for our community.
Previously, LouCity's landmark stadium was lit up green, the color of hope and renewal to honor those who had fallen victim to the COVID-19 pandemic. (images below)
In addition to the stadium lighting and supportive messages on the video boards near Interstate-64, Louisville City has partnered with Dyehard Fan Supply to produce a purple #LouCityStrong t-shirt. $10 of each shirt sold goes to support the One Louisville COVID-19 Relief Fund. The shirts were so popular in pre-order that they will be available in local Kroger stores starting Friday, April 10.
The club has also set up a COVID-19 FAQ for our fans here: LouCity.com/COVID19
