MUSKEGON, Michigan (June 1st) - The Muskegon Lumberjacks have announced a trade in which the organization has claimed Forward Rem Pitlick from the Waterloo Black Hawks in exchange for both a first round Phase I and tenth round Phase II pick in the 2016 USHL Draft.
Pitlick, the Plymouth, Minnesota native and University of Minnesota commit, was drafted by the Black Hawks with the 12th overall selection during the 2013 USHL Phase I Draft and appeared in 47 games last season with Waterloo recording seven goals and nine assists.
Prior to skating in the USHL, Pitlick played three seasons from 2011-14 with the Shattuck St. Mary's (Minnesota) hockey program amassing 69 goals and 120 assists in 158 games that included a 110-point season (46 goals, 64 assists) in 2011-12 with the Tier I Bantam team.
Rem is the son of former National Hockey League Defenseman Lance Pitlick, who played collegiately for the Golden Gophers (1986-90) and skated eight seasons in the NHL for the Ottawa Senators (1994-99) and Florida Panthers (1999-2002), respectively. Lance was a ninth round draft pick at 180th overall by the Minnesota North Stars during the 1986 NHL Draft.
