Luedtke signs with Capitols

March 15, 2002 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL) - Lincoln Capitols News Release

[Lincoln] General Manager Margie Smith and Head Coach Jose Jefferson announced today that former Lincoln Lightning quarterback Josh Luedtke has signed with the new Lincoln Capitols Indoor Football Team. This will be Luedtke's third season playing indoor football in Lincoln. During his 2001 season with the former Lightning, Luedtke completed 209 passes out of 370 attempts for a 56% completion average and totaling 2,321 yards with 33 touchdowns. In his 2000 season with the Lightning he led the IFL with a 102.9 passing rating while accumulating over 2000 yards and 41 touchdowns. The 6’5” 240 pound Omaha native graduated from The University of Nebraska at Omaha 1n 1994. During his high school career, Luedtke quarterbacked the Creighton Prep Blue Jays of Omaha to 3 straight State High School Football Championships in 88, 89 and 90.

With the acquisition of Josh Luedtke, the Capitols now have 4-signed players at the quarterback position. They are, in addition to Luedtke, Troy Longe from NE. Wesleyan; Brian Magrell from Kent State, and John Carnevali from Texas El Paso.
