Lovisa Selander Named to Team Sweden

Boston Pride goaltender Lovisa Selander has been selected for Team Sweden's roster at the 4 Nations Tournament taking place in Fussen, Germany from Dec. 12-14.
"Earning a spot on the national team roster is always a goal of mine, so I'm very proud to have this opportunity to represent Sweden," said Selander. "I appreciate everyone who continues to support my life in hockey, including my family and friends, as well as the fans and everyone in the Boston Pride organization. Being a member of the Pride has enabled me to improve every aspect of my game."
Selander is having a historic start to her NWHL career with the undefeated Pride (9-0), setting the league record for most consecutive wins for a goaltender in her rookie season. The RPI alumna leads all NWHL goaltenders in saves (224), minutes played (442:58), and wins (8). Among goalies who have started at least two games, Selander leads the pack with a .949 save percentage, a 1.76 GAA, and a 10.36 GSAA (goals saved above average, all situations). She has allowed two or fewer goals in seven of her eight starts and has yet to finish a game with a save percentage below .920.
Selected 20th overall by the Pride in the NWHL Draft last December, Selander signed with Boston on August 20. She is the NCAA all-time saves leader and, last season, was a Top-Ten Finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award. Selander was honored in 2018-19 as RPI's MVP, ECAC Goaltender of the Year, ECAC All-Academic, and was RPI's first-ever CCM/AHCA National All-America First Team selection. Prior to attending RPI, the native of Sollentuna, Sweden played for SDE of the SDHL. She previously represented Sweden at the 2019 World Championships and 2018 4 Nations Tournament.
