
Louisville Knocks off STL FC in Season Opener

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville City FC scored a goal in each half as they defeated Saint Louis FC 2-0 in front of 6,067 fans at Slugger Field on Saturday afternoon.
The match was the regular season opener for both teams, as STL FC made its long-awaited debut in USL.
Magnus Rasmussen opened the scoring for the hosts midway through the first half when he took down a long ball and beat goalkeeper Mark Pais at the far post.
Charlie Adams doubled Louisville's advantage in the 67th minute with a curled effort from 20 yards.
Pais made two saves in goal for STL FC. Louisville goalkeeper Scott Goodwin made two saves of his own.
Saint Louis FC will be back in action on Thursday night when it travels to face Tulsa Roughnecks FC. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM at ONEOK Field.
