
Louisiana's Shawn McNeil Named Easton Player of the Month

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (March 6, 2013) - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Shawn McNeil of the Louisiana IceGators is the Easton Player of the Month for February.
McNeil scored 10 goals, including two game-winners, and added 11 assists as he helped Louisiana maintain first place in the standings as the IceGators went a league-best 9-3-1 in February. McNeil had six multi-point games and recorded both an eight-game point streak and four-game goal streak as he was kept off the scoresheet just once last month.
McNeil, who has 143 points in 149 games (62g, 81a) with the IceGators, was a 3rd round draft pick of the Washington Capitals (78th overall) in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. McNeil, who hails from Pembroke, Ontario, currently leads the SPHL with three shorthanded goals and 12 power-play assists (tied) and is tied for 7th with 43 points (18g, 25a).
