Louisiana Swashbucklers

May 4, 2010 - Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL) News Release

LAKE CHARLES, LA (May 4, 2010) - On Wednesday May 5th, the Louisiana Swashbucklers of the Southern Indoor Football League will hold a press conference on the mezzanine level of the Lake Charles Civic Center at noon.

With a less than stellar 2 and 3 s-l-o-w start to the 2010 season, the team has decided to make a few key changes as they try to rebound from falling under .500 for already the second time this season.

Just his past weekend the Swashbucklers were entangled in their "I-10" rivalry series with the Lafayette Wildcatters. The club was up by as much as 15-points with eight minutes left only to surrender the lead and fall in overtime 59-52.

In the clubs previous two losses, they were man handled by the Columbus Lions 88-32 back on March 27th and also gave up a 16-point lead to the Greenville Force falling by the wayside in a three-point loss 57-54.

For the first time since 2006, the Swashbucklers have been unable to put together back-to-back victories with both total defense (255 yds/game) and pass defense (224 yds/game) are down from a year ago.

Refreshments will be provided for those who attend. For more information contact the Swashbucklers front office at 337-310-7277 or log on to www.labucs.com.
