Arizona Sting News Release
GLENDALE, AZ --- The National Lacrosse League has announced that Arizona Sting defenseman Peter Lough has been added to the West Division's starting lineup for the 2007 NLL All-Star Game, scheduled to take place this Saturday, March 10, at the Rose Garden in Portland. A replay of the match will be shown on VERSUS on Sunday, March 11, at 12:30pm MST.
Lough will be joining Sting teammates Dan Dawson and Rob Blasdell on the West Division's starting lineup on Saturday. Arizona and Philadelphia are now the only teams to have three players starting at this year's All-Star Game. The promotion of Lough from reserve to starter comes following the decision of Edmonton Rush defenseman Andrew Turner to not participate in the match due to personal reasons.
Currently in his fourth season with the Sting, Lough was named an Assistant Captain for the Western All-Stars last week and will be making his third straight appearance in the NLL's mid-season showcase. Last year, 'The Punisher' served as Team Captain as the West won their first All-Star Game in the competition's history by a score of 14-13 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. In 2005, Lough led all Western defensemen in assists with four as the East pulled out an 11-10 victory at the Pengrowth Saddledome in Calgary.
The Arizona Sting is a professional indoor lacrosse team playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). Their home games are played at the Jobing.com Arena and their season runs annually from January-April. For more information, please visit www.ArizonaSting.com.
