JOHN GREGG
John's collegiate career includes: Division II National Championship team at Southern Connecticut State University, and All-Region and All-Conference at Johnson State College of Vermont. In his senior year at Johnson State, John played in the NECAA Senior All Star game. After graduating, he returned home to play professionally for the Harrisburg Heat of the NPSL from 1996 to 2000.
John became Head Boys coach of Hershey High School in 1997 where he coached for 8 years winning multiple awards. He is a coach for the EPYSA Olympic Development Program for goalkeepers and is also a member of the Regional 1 ODP staff. John is the holder of a USSF (United States Soccer Federation) 'C' License, an NSCAA Level I, II and III Goalkeeper Diplomas, USYSA 'Y' License, and the NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma. He is also an active coaching instructor for the NSCAA and USSF in their coaching education departments. He coaches locally for LDC United and was the Director of Coaching for CPYSL for 5 years.
John received his National Youth License from the United States Youth Soccer Association in 2004. Shortly after receiving that license, he obtained his National Youth Instructors License, which will allow him to teach the Youth Module classes to other coaches specializing on the U6, U8, 10, and U12 player development. He is also on the NSCAA National Goalkeeping staff and is Licensed to teach the Level I and Level II Courses.
John is currently the General Manager of the Harrisburg City Islanders
DAVE KERN
Dave Kern is currently the City Islanders Youth Academy Director and Pro Team's GK coach. He played professionally for 7 years with teams such as the City Islanders, Baltimore Blast, and Real Maryland FC. Dave has been working with goalkeepers and teams in the Harrisburg area since 2004. He has worked with clubs such as Hershey Attack, LDC, CASA/CAPA, PA Classics, and Mechanicsburg SC.
Dave is the City Islanders all-time leader in nearly every major goalkeeping category. The native of Glenolden, PA, ranks first among keepers in team history with 38 games played, 3,390 minutes, 22 wins, and 390 saves, and is second with nine shutouts. He went undefeated in 2005, going 10-0-1 with a 0.98 goals against average as the team had its best regular season ever (12-3-5). He started and won the first game in team history on April 17 in Northern Virginia.
BRIAN OMBIJI
A native of Eldoret, Kenya, Ombiji came to the Harrisburg area after graduating form Lindsey Wilson College in 2004. In his four years with the Blue Raiders he scored 35 goals, and upon graduation he ranked 5th in all-time points, and second in all-time assists. He was also recognized with three All-Conference First Team selections, two NAIA All-Region First Team nods, the Mid-South Conference and NAIA Region XI Player of the Year in 2004, and a spot on the NAIA All-Tournament First Team in 2005. Wait he's not done yet, Ombiji was an NAIA First Team All-American in 2004 and 2005.
JASON PELLETIER
Jason attended Middletown High School (State Champion 2001) and played at Rutgers University and Robert Morris University where he was All-Conference. He was a staple in the central midfield for the Colonials, earning All-NEC selections in 2005 and 2006. He was also a Regional and National Olympic Development Program participant. Jason signed with the Harrisburg City Islanders in 2008. He coaches youth teams for both LDC United and City Islanders Academy.
DENIS CLARKE
Denis is originally from Dublin, Ireland, where he grew up playing soccer for the Irish Schoolboy and Youth National Teams. Denis obtained a "C" coaching license from The Football Association of Ireland. He also had professional tryouts with Mill Wall FC from London, England before coming to the U.S. He was then offered a full scholarship to Elizabethtown College where he was a 3 year Regional All American.
Denis has also been coaching youth soccer for 14 years.
MATT PROCOPIO
Matt graduated from Millersville University in 2008, NCAA Division 21st Team All-Atlantic Region and All-American Honorable Mention. He played for FC Reading Revolution of the NPSL in 2009. Matt holds his NSCAA Premier, GK Level 1 and 2 Diplomas, USSF C and National Youth Licenses, USA Weightlifting and TF Level 1 License, and is CPR and AED Certified. Matt has served as a coach for Big Kick Soccer Camps, International Touch Soccer Academy, Thunder SC, DC United Winter Camps, Braddock Road YC, US Sports Conditioning and City Islanders Academy. Matt is also the 2012 Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at Millersville University.
TOM BRANDT
Tom played for the University of Pennsylvania. He joined the City Islanders Pro Team in 2012 and was drafted by the Philly Union. Tom played locally at Palmyra High School. He has coached at the University of Pennsylvania Youth Summer Camps and the City Islanders Academy Summer Camps.
AVERY STEINLAGE
Avery graduated and played for Michigan State University. He also played for the Detroit Waza, a PASL indoor league, in 2011. Avery joined the City Islanders Pro Team in 2012. He was the City Islanders Academy Head Coach for U11 Boys and is the Boys JV Assistant Coach at Central Dauphin East High School.
