Long Road Trip to Concludes Stampede's Inaugural Season in PIFL

HARRISBURG, PA (Jun 13, 2014) - The Harrisburg Stampede travel to Huntsville, AL this weekend to face the Alabama Hammers in rescheduled contest originally slated for April 28th. The original game was postponed due to inclement weather, and at the time the season looked much brighter for both teams. This contest marks the end of the 2014 campaign for both teams, as they look to finish with a win going into the 2015 season.

Harrisburg is coming off a win versus National Conference foe Lehigh Valley last week. The Herd offense was clicking on all cylinders, as signal caller E.J. Nemeth led the way, accounting for 8 total touchdowns.

Alabama enters the weekend coming off a tough loss to Columbus, and saw their playoff hopes ended in the process. In a contest the Hammers needed to win to stay in the playoff hunt, the Alabama gave up a score just three plays into the game. From that point, Columbus never relinquished the lead dismantling the Hammers 69-31 in a wire to wire victory.

Matchup to Watch :

Harrisburg Stampede WR Collis Martin remains the constant in a receiving corps that has been depleted in previous weeks. Scorpio Brown, Jerrel Jones, and Norm White have all missed time in previous weeks due to various reasons. Martin has been a consistent force for the Stampede this season, accounting for 12 TDs on 56 receptions and 580 yards.

Alabama Hammers WR Mico McSwain has been a dominant force all season in the PIFL. He has a league best 1,025 yards on 73 receptions, and has accounted for 23 receiving TDs in 2014.

Both teams entered the season with lofty postseason hopes, as the Hammer came began the year as defending PIFL Cup Champions. The Stampede entered the league this year coming off an AIF National Championship campaign. Both teams will enter the offseason looking to improve going into the 2015 season, in hopes of getting back to the postseason.

Kickoff is set for 7:00pm CST from the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, AL.
