November 24, 2011 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
London Lightning News Release
Tonight, in front of 2,083 fans at the John Labatt Centre, the LL defeated the Moncton Miracles 122-100. London moves to 7-2 on the season, while Moncton remains winless.
"It was a good game," declared Coach Michael Ray Richardson "the guys rebounded well. It was the first game we outrebounded a team by 20."
From the tip, the Lightning displayed the type of depth and athleticism that has kept them atop the league standings since the season began. Five players scored in double figures, led by Gabe Freeman's 34 points. Eleven men saw action and they outrebounded Moncton 62-42.
The first NBL Canada all-star from the Lightning, Gabe Freeman describes his game by saying "I go into every game the same. I had a good night and the team played well together. At the end of the day defense wins championships and that's what helped us win tonight."
The Lightning will strike the John Labatt Centre next on Saturday, December 10th against their 401 rival the Oshawa Power at 7:00pm.
