London Lightning Suffer Nailbiting Defeat

(LONDON, ON) The London Lightning we're defeated in a very close game that came down to overtime on Thursday night at The Budweiser Gardens. The Bolts started the game strong with steals on the first 2 possessions but the defense did not hold up as the Lightning Surrendered 40 points in the second Quarter. While a the bolts made a push late to force overtime they ultimately fell short in the extra frame. 129-122 was the final.

Leading the team offensively with 29 points was Mo Bolden and was the top scorer throughout for the Lightning. Marvin Philips had a double double with 19 points and 14 rebounds, Alex Johnson had 20 points off the bench, Kirk Williams Jr chipped in 13. AJ Gaines had 12 and Moon and Babb-Harrison Finished with 10 each.

Despite tonights nail-biting loss Head Coach Elliott Etherington was proud of his hard working team, "My team are warriors, I love these guys, we have a team of leaders that can produce" We're going to be fine and make it back"

The Next London Lighting Game will be Saturday night when the Lightning take on the Windsor Express on the road at 7PM. The next Lightning home game will come on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 2PM when the Bolts will take on the Saint John Riptide here at Budweiser Gardens.
