
London Lightning Announce 2021-2022 Season

(LONDON, ON) - The London Lightning and National Basketball League of Canada are pleased to announce their return to play for the 2021-22 season. The Lightning is excited to return to the Budweiser Gardens and play in front of their amazing fans once again after over 600 days away.
Marking their first regular season action since March 11th, 2020, the Lightning begin their 10th year in the NBL Canada on the road against the Sudbury Five on Saturday, February 5. The Lightning's first home game of the season is scheduled for Friday, February 11 against the Sudbury Five at the Budweiser Gardens.
The National Basketball League of Canada introduces an innovative schedule for the 2021-22 season featuring four Ontario based NBL Canada teams playing several US based teams from The Basketball League. The TBL teams will make a temporary NBLC debut to help fill out the regular season schedule.
Sudbury, Kitchener, and Windsor join the Lightning as the teams opting to participate this season.
As the NBL Canada returns to play, the health and safety of our fans, players and staff remains our top priority. The London Lightning and Budweiser Gardens are in regular communication with the league, city and provincial officials and health experts on decisions regarding health and safety protocols for games and events this season, which will be finalized and announced closer to the beginning of the season.
