IRVINE, CALIF. - August 1, 2026 - El Paso Locomotive FC fell 2-0 to Western Conference leaders Orange County SC on Saturday night.

Orange County struck first in the 26th minute when Ousmane Sylla finished off a counterattack to give the hosts the early advantage.

Locomotive created multiple opportunities to find an equalizer but went into the halftime break trailing by one.

Garrison Tubbs doubled Orange County's lead in the 62nd minute, finishing off a set piece to make it 2-0. Orange County remained organized defensively the rest of the way to secure the victory.

Locomotive returns to Southwest University Park on Wednesday, August 5, to host Monterey Bay FC for Pups at the Pitch. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. MT.

MATCH NOTES

Tonight's match marks the second straight game that El Paso Locomotive FC has recorded at least nine shots on target. It is also the fourth consecutive match in which Locomotive has tallied 10 or more shots.

Orange County's second goal of the night marked just the fourth set-piece goal Locomotive has conceded this season.

Ousmane Sylla's goal in the 26th minute was the earliest goal Locomotive has conceded since Álvaro Quezada's own goal against Lexington SC in the ninth minute.
