Locomotion To Host The Pensacola Power in the Second Round of Women\'s Football Playoffs
July 7, 2004 - National Women's Football Association (NWFA)
Chattanooga Locomotion News Release
The National Women's Football Association has completed its 2004 regular season and is now heading into the second round of playoffs, which will be held on July 10th. The undefeated Chattanooga Locomotion will be hosting the undefeated Pensacola Power at Central High School on Hwy 58 and kick off will be at 7:00 PM.
These two teams have not had the chance to play each other since 2001, and the Locomotion has anxiously awaited this opportunity. Although the entire team is looking forward to the match up, Owner/ Player Tammy Hall said "for those of us who played the first year, we will never forget our first game against the Power. We have waited a long time to have this chance to show them just how far we have come. We still have 8 players on our roster that played in the very first game in Chattanooga and playing them at home in a playoff game is the perfect opportunity to show them what a force the Chattanooga Team has become."
The top team from this game will go on to the 3rd round of playoffs to be held on July 17th. Location and opponent of the 3rd round of playoffs will be determined by the outcome of the other conference playoff game, the Oklahoma City Lightning vs. the Kansas City Krunch. The top team in the conference will go on to compete at the 2004 World Championship of Women's Pro Football.
The 2004 World Championship will be held in Louisville, Kentucky at the Papa John's Cardinal Stadium on Saturday, July 31st at 7:00pm.
This Saturday's game at Central High School will begin at 7:00 PM with the team introductions and fireworks provided by Hall Vending Company. The National Anthem and half-time show will be performed by the Clairall-Naughyde Band, lead singer Allen Brooks.
