Chattanooga Locomotion News Release
The Chattanooga Locomotion Women's Professional Football Team will play the Evansville Indiana Express on Saturday, April 5, 2003 at 7:00 PM CST at Monterey High School. A portion of the proceeds from this exhibition game will benefit the Monterey High School athletic program. Tickets are $6.00.
The Chattanooga Locomotion and Evansville Express are franchised teams of the National Women's Football Association headquartered in Nashville. The NWFA is the largest women's full-contact football league in the world with 30 teams and a nationally televised championship game. The game will be governed by NFL rules.
The Evansville Express is a new expansion team of the NWFA with a 45 player roster. The Chattanooga Locomotion is beginning its third season in the league and finished the 2002 season with 4 wins and 4 losses and carries a roster of 40 players.
Both football franchises are owned by former Monterey native, Ken Hall and his wife, Tammy. Tammy plays defensive end for the Locomotion and was named defensive player of the year last season. Ken serves as the head coach for the Locomotion.
According to Coach Hall, "Monterey High School holds a special place in my heart since my father, W. J. (Bill) Hal, played for the first Monterey High School team and scored the first defensive touchdown in the school's history."
