Orlando Predators News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. - May 6, 2011 - Local Orlando businesses are coming together to collect needed supplies to send to the victims of the tornadoes throughout Alabama. JHT Incorporated, the Orlando Predators, Southern Trial Council, TRUE Marketing and Medical Curriculum Technologies are working together to provide support to the those affected by the massive storms that left parts of the state in shambles. The businesses will be collecting items before the Predators game on Friday, May 6 in front of the Amway Arena.
JHT Incorporated, a technology training company headquartered in Orlando, has purchased $10,000 in goods for the victims in Alabama. The company is also providing a truck and drivers to deliver the supplies to Tuscaloosa Temporary Emergency Services Department in Tuscaloosa, Alabama this weekend.
"There have been a lot of big news items in the last week and we want to make sure the people in Alabama are not forgotten and stay in the forefront of our minds so that they can receive the help they need," said JHT CEO Jim Jardon.
Managing Partner of the Orlando Predators, Brett Bouchy, echoed that sentiment saying "we want to help in any way we can and we are asking our incredible fans to help out as well by bringing supplies to the Amway Center before the Tampa game Friday evening."
The tornadoes in Alabama, which left hundreds dead and thousands without homes throughout the state, was one of the worst tornado outbreaks to ever hit the United States. A string of storms across the South produced over 300 tornados over a three-day period.
Orlando residents are encouraged to come out and show their support for those affected. Predators players and Prowlers will be on hand outside of the arena before the game and are asking fans to drop off donations on the way into this week's big rivalry game against Tampa. Needed items include diapers, powdered baby formula, baby foods that do not require heating or cooking, non-perishable food items, bug spray, sun screen, toilet paper, paper towels and toiletries.
