New York, NY – Oceanside Middle School welcomed Brad Cronin and Frank D'Agostino from the Long Island Lizards of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) on Tuesday, November 17, for a special presentation in conjunction with Oceanside's Career Day. Recruited by the Oceanside P.T.A., Cronin, the Lizards General Manager and D'Agostino, a defenseman for the Lizards, spoke about the various career opportunities that are available in sports today.

Cronin gave a brief introduction providing a background of the Lizards and introduced D'Agostino who discussed his role with the Lizards and his personal career in athletics. Originally from Massapequa, D'Agostino attended the New York Institute of Technology where he was a three-time first team All-American. He became a member of the Lizards in the spring of 2004.

The Lizards were well received by the 7th and 8th grade audiences. After the presentations, students participated in relay races and other games with D'Agostino and Spike, the Lizards mascot. Lizards gear such as Gatorade water bottles and towels and Warrior game balls were given out to student participants.

"The response was tremendous and their enthusiasm was contagious," D'Agostino replied when asked about the student's reception to the presentation.

Rose Cirillo, a member of the Oceanside P.T.A., graciously thanked the Lizards, and said, "The students really had a wonderful time. It was a great angle to have a GM, a mascot and a player so the students could see different sides of the sports world and the careers that it offers."
