Lizards Partner with Varsity Networks to Build Internet Community for L.I. Lacrosse

Uniondale, NY (March 2, 2006) -- The Long Island Lizards of Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premiere professional outdoor lacrosse league, have partnered with Varsity Networks (VN), a leading provider of web site services for youth and amateur athletics. The partnership will provide a branded network of load, click and post websites tailored for the boys and girls high school, junior high, youth and club lacrosse programs in the New York Metropolitan area and will be called the Lizards Lacrosse Network.

"As the professional lacrosse franchise of Long Island, we feel that we have a responsibility to use our resources to provide tools and support that will allow the high school, youth and club programs to harness the rapidly growing fan base, energy and excitement generated by their teams," said Lizards President Dave Kotowski.

High School and Junior High School teams, as well as youth and club programs, can begin adding content immediately to their sites by going to http://lizards.uslaxnet.com/. Customizing a site is as easy as copy, paste, click and load. The sites include plenty of space for photos, statistics, rosters, league standings, local sponsors and feature articles.

"Lacrosse is the fastest growing high school sport in the country," commented VN President Paul Bauersfeld. "We are dedicated to creating networks of websites to improve communications between coaches and players, raise team morale and enable the entire community to share the excitement of high school and youth sports. We are pleased to have entered into a relationship with the Long Island Lizards who share our interest in supporting the growth of lacrosse."

As the network provider, VN is providing its Assist© websites product. All programs that take advantage of the network will be provided exclusive online content for the Lizards and Major League Lacrosse, announcements about special events and promotions for authentic Lizards merchandise.

Varsity Networks' Assist© Service websites are designed to be the focal point to send and receive communications, including messages and emails between players, coaches, parents and alumni. They automatically generate team roster and player bios from registration information entered on-line by the players, permit the entry of content such as schedules, scores, game photos and field directions and assist the team in managing equipment and apparel purchases, keeping track of inventory and in fund raising and event management.
