London Lightning News Release
(LONDON, Ontario) - The London Lightning announced Wednesday shooting guard Ryan Anderson has been signed to the team.
Anderson previously played for the defending NBL champions, the Windsor Express in 2014-15, and was also a member of the Ottawa Skyhawks during the 2013-14 season.
"Having coached against Ryan last year I was able to experience his ability to play both sides of the ball first hand," said coach Kyle Julius. "Ryan is a proven winner who plays with big time passion and aggressiveness. I am looking forward to having him join the Lightning family."
Anderson is from Seattle, Washington and played collegiately at the University of Nebraska, one of the best defensive teams in the country during his time there from 2006-2010.
In 2014, Anderson was named to the second All-NBL Canada team as a member of the Express. He averaged 14 points per game with a 41.6 FG% and 5 rebounds per game.
"I've always enjoyed playing against London the last couple of seasons. The fans were amazing and so was the club. Timing plays a big factor in everything. This was the right time and I can't wait to help be a part of what's going on in London," said Anderson.
"I can't wait to play in front of the awesome fans and help bring a championship back to the Budweiser Gardens and the city of London."
