London Lightning News Release
(LONDON, Ontario) - The London Lightning will welcome combo guard, Nick Okorie, to the team's official training camp on December 3.
"This is a deal we have been working on for a long time," said head coach Kyle Julius. "Last week's exhibition game against the Raptors 905 allowed us to see what we need. Nick brings maturity, confidence and experience that will help us as he is a proven player in this league. We have young players that will benefit from his presence and he will make training camp that much more competitive."
Okorie was acquired when the Island Storm traded him and the 5th and 7th picks in the first round of the 2015 NBL Entry Draft to the Lightning in exchange for Canadian Renaldo Dixon and the rights to Brent Jennings.
"London is a wonderful city with tremendous fan support. Vito has built a top notch organization and I am really looking forward to playing for Coach Kyle as he is known for developing players and making them better. I think Coach has what it takes to put a team together to win a championship and I'm excited to get started," said Okorie.
