(LONDON, Ontario) -- Wednesday night, in front of 2167 fans at Budweiser Gardens, the London Lightning beat the Niagara River Lions 123-114.
Stephen Maxwell finished with a season-high 32 points and 15 rebounds for his league leading 12th double-double of the 2015-16 campaign.
Ryan Anderson had a big night, scoring 27 points on 6 of 8 shooting from three point range.
The game was back and forth until three minutes left in the fourth quarter when the Lightning broke away. London's 7-0 run with under 2:00 to go put the game away.
"Tonight we had a bunch of energy taking, and then the last six or seven minutes they started giving. The bench was more alive, the plays were more team-oriented, and we had an unbelievable final four minutes," said coach Kyle Julius.
The Lightning head to St. Catharines to take on the River Lions Thursday night in the second part of their home and home series.
London's next home game is Thursday, Feb. 18 against the Windsor Express.
