London Lightning News Release

(LONDON, ON) - The London Lightning are excited to announce that we have signed Canadian guard, Cody John for the 2022 National Basketball League of Canada season.

A native of Mississauga, Cody John joins the Lightning as he heads into his third year as a pro.

John is coming off an impressive sophomore season in the CEBL where he averaged 9 points, 2 rebounds and shot nearly 46% from beyond the arc.

The 6'3 guard is an alumnus of Weber State University (Damian Lillard's alma mater) where he twice earned All-Big Sky Conference honors and finished his career playing in 129 career games, good for fifth-most in school history. John also finished his career 14th-most in career points with 1345.

"We are very happy to add Cody to our roster this season. He is a talented young point guard with the ability to score the ball in bunches. He loves the game and has the attitude and work ethic that embodies what we are all about". - Head Coach Doug Plumb

"Happy to be a part of a great Organization and can't wait to join the Lightning. I'm so grateful for this opportunity". - Cody John

Catch Cody and the rest of the Lightning this season when they take the court at the Budweiser Gardens for their home-opener on March 5th, 2022.
