London Lightning News Release
(LONDON, ON) - The London Lightning are excited to announce that we have signed American forward, Scott Plaisance for the 2022 National Basketball League of Canada season.
At 6'9, Plaisance is a former Louisiana state High School Player of the Year and alumni of the University of New Orleans. In his senior season with the Privateers, he averaged 10 points and 5 rebounds per game as a starter. After the conclusion of his NCAA career, Scott joined AD Sanjoanense in Portugal where he averaged 15 points and 7 rebounds during his time there before the COVID-19 lockdown.
Son of legendary Nichols State University women's basketball head coach, Mary "DoBee" Plaisance, and younger sibling to Theresa Plaisance of the Dallas Wings (WNBA), Scott has an old-school game with a modern twist. Scott has an impressive low post game and protects the rim, swatting over 1 block per game in college and the pros, while also showing an ability to run the floor and step out and hit long-range shots.
"Scott is a skilled big with high IQ. He will fit in seamlessly into our system and will add value from day 1. He is a proven pro and we look forward to what he will add to our team" - Head Coach Doug Plumb
"I'm excited about this new opportunity and new experiences with the Lightning. Looking forward to a big season". - Scott Plaisance
Catch Scott and the rest of the Lightning this season when they take the court at the Budweiser Gardens for their home-opener on February 11th, 2022.
