(LONDON, ON) - The London Lightning defeated the Sudbury Five 125-115 Thursday evening on their way to setting an National Basketball League of Canada record of a perfect 12-0 at home.

The Lightning finished their regular season 20-4 with the victory going 5-1 against the KW Titans, 5-1 against the Windsor Express, 5-1 against the Sudbury and 5-1 against their US-based opponents from the TBL.

London came out flat in the first quarter against the Five but still managed to hold a narrow lead heading into the half despite being down after the first quarter. London scored 28 to the Five's 29 and 33 to the Five's 26 in the first and second quarters respectively.

Unfortunately for the Bolts, Sudbury would mount an enthusiastic comeback in the third quarter, scoring an impressive 41 points to the Lightning's 29. London saw their 12 point lead dissolve and turn into a 9-point deficit before heading into the final frame down. Fortunately for the Bolts, Jordan Burns would take over the quarter scoring 15 of his 32 points in the final 12 minutes of play, leading the Lightning to the 10 point victory.

Amir Williams was named Player of the Game after posting his second 40 point double-double of the season with 40 points and 18 rebounds. The 6'1 big-man also added 5 blocks on the night. Burns recorded his second straight 30+ point game scoring 32 while adding 8 assists and 5 steals. Canadians Terry Thomas and Jermaine Haley Jr. scored 19 and 13 points respectively while Cam Forte added 13 rebounds and 8 points off the bench.

Braylon Rayson was the top man for the Five scoring 32 points to go along with 8 assists and a game-high 7 turnovers. Kirk Williams (13 points), Jeremy Harris (12 points) and Jason Calliste (11 points) rounded out the double-digit scoring for the Five.
