London Lightning News Release
(WINDSOR, ON) - Despite a slow start, the London Lightning remain undefeated in National Basketball League of Canada as they overcome the visiting KW Titans, 104-90.
It was a sloppy start for the Bolts as they showed a lack of urgency and energy as the Titans jumped out to a 24-2 lead midway through the first quarter. Offense was hard to come by early as the Bolts finished the quarter down 34-18 while shooting an ice cold 37% from the floor and 25% from deep.
The rest of the game fared better for the Bolts as they outscored the Titans in the final three frames before pulling out the win. Despite being down 50-39 at half, Coach Plumb said the right things to motivate the team to dominate the second half and hold off any Titan runs late.
Player of the Game, Cam Forte, led the team in scoring with 32 points on 14-19 shooting while adding 9 rebounds. Terry Thomas shook of a slow start to finish the game with 21 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Jaylon Tate added 15 on the night while Chris Jones led the team with 8 assists.
The Titans were led by Joel Kindred and Chad Frazier's 19 points on the night. Eric Ferguson (17 points), Osa Wilson (11 points) and Darnell Landon (10 points) rounded out the scoring for the visiting Titans.
The Lightning are back at the Budweiser Gardens tomorrow March 6th against the visiting Lansing Pharaohs of the US-based The Basketball League.
