Lightning Overcome Slow Start To Defeat Titans

(LONDON, ON) The Lightning continued their winning ways in the early season picking up the 113-97 win over the visiting KW Titans. Despite a slow start to the game that saw the Lightning fall behind by as many as 13 in the second quarter before heading into the half down 52-47. After a back and forth third quarter, the Lightning would come alive and outscore the Titans, 38-20 in the fourth to close out the game. With the win, the Lightning improve to 4-1 on the season while the Titans fall to 1-3.

The Lightning only had eight available players on the night. Jaylon Tate (ankle), Omar Strong (hip), Mo Bolden (shoulder) and Marvin Binney (calf) were all nursing injuries, leaving the Bolts with only three bench players. Despite the full IR list, the Lightning starters carried the team scoring 111 of their 113 points.

Xavier Moon had another stellar game for the Bolts, nearly recording a triple-double and narrowly missing the 40 point mark. Moon, who had 25 first half points, ended with an impressive statline of 39 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists on the night. Despite a mid-game cold streak, AJ Gaines Jr added 27 points and 9 rebounds while veteran Marcus Capers also nearly had a triple-double with 8 points, 12 assists, 8 rebounds and a game-high 4 steals. Forward Mareik Isom had another efficient night scoring the ball, recording 21 points on 10-14 shooting.
