Texas Outlaws News Release

The Texas Outlaws played in their inaugural game tonight in Loveland, Colorado against the Colorado Lightning. They came away with an 8-5 win, with Michael Uremovich scoring the first goal of the season and the first goal ever by a Texas Outlaws player, spoiling the Lightning's first ever home game.

"It was a great feeling to get the season off to a great start," said Uremovich. "Scoring the first goal was amazing.

"The atmosphere was great, we got on top early, and it was encouraging because our young guys didn't know what to expect and we got organized and did what we needed to get done. With that being said we know we have a lot to get done, but we are excited to get back to Dallas"

Outlaws Co-Head Coach Kevin Leonard was concerned that his team nearly let an 8-0 lead slip away, but was pleased overall. "We played well, we kept it simple most of the game, could have finished a little better in second half, but it was a great win. There are some things we need to work on, the guys played very hard, and need to get a little fit and stay a little more consistent."

Cesar Cervin, Outlaws Co-Head Coach, and longtime Dallas Sidekicks assistant coach agreed. "The guys played well, the altitude played a part in the second half. For the first game I was very impressed, we will get it even better."

Texas Outlaws will have their first home game November 16th at NYTEX Sport Centre in North Richland Hills. They will be playing the Denver Dynamite in their home opener at 6:15pm, Please come out an support the Texas Outlaws as they push towards the championship of the inaugural season of the PASL-Pro league.
