London Lightning News Release
(LONDON, ON) - The London Lightning dropped their third straight game Monday afternoon as the visiting KW Titans take advantage of a slow Lightning start, their injury depleted roster, and 17 extra free throw attempts to walk away with a 108-107 victory in double- overtime.
Despite starting the game 0-19 and only scoring 6 points in the first quarter, London was able to put together an impressive fourth quarter to force overtime. In the two extra frames, London and KW would trade big shot after big shot before the Titans sealed the game with 9.8 seconds left.
Randy Phillips led the Lightning with a double-double of 28 points and 12 rebounds before fouling out.
Newcomer Tyrell Green enjoyed his best game as a Lightning, posting 19 points on 5-9 from beyond the arc. Marvin Binney added 16, Garrett Williamson added 12 while AJ Gaines added 10 off the bench.
Before fouling out, Marcus Capers had a near triple-double of 9 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
