London Lightning News Release
(LONDON, ON) - The Lightning fall 105-104 against the visiting Windsor Express Wednesday evening and now sit at 4-3 on the season.
On the heels of three straight wins on the road, London returned home to a packed Budweiser Gardens, and came out flat in the first three quarters. London fell behind the Express early in the game, and with the exception of a small offensive burst to end the first quarter, they failed to show much energy during the first half.
After digging themselves a 14-point deficit heading into the final frame, London would show signs of life as they rode the backs of Mike Nuga and Justin Jackson. Down by as many as 16 points, the Lightning's 35 points in the fourth weren't enough. Down two points with less than 20 seconds, Justin Jackson would hit a three pointer with 9.5 seconds to take a one point lead.
After a Windsor Express time out, Billy White would win the game on a contested layup with 1.5 seconds left.
Mareik Isom led the Bolts with a team-high 24 points on the night while Mike Nuga earned player of the game honours after posting 21 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists off the bench.
Justin Jackson added 17 points (14 in the fourth quarter) and Cameron Lard posted a double- double of 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Windsor's Ja'Myrin Jackson led all scorers with 28 points off the bench. Billy White nearly added a triple-double with 25 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists on the night while Nick garth (17 points) and William Claiborne (10 points) rounded out the scoring for the Express.
