SUMMER SERIES:

Tonight's game is the first meeting between the Liberty and Shock ... They will go head-to-head in three regular season match-ups this summer ... New York will visit Detroit on 8/4 and 9/10.

LEADING LADY:

Shameka Christon is currently averaging .488-percent from beyond-the-arc to qualify as one of the league's top 20 long-range shooters ... She knocked down six treys on 6/23 against Minnesota to tie her career-high ... Christon's 17.4 ppg ranks her amongst the WNBA's top 10 leading scorers.

EARLY & OFTEN:

Voting for the WNBA All-Star Game on 7/25 at Mohegan Sun is underway ... New York's Essence Carson, Loree Moore, Shameka Christon, Cathrine Kraayeveld and Janel McCarville are on the ballot seeking their first appearance on the Eastern Conference roster ... The polls will close on 7/7.

HOME SWEET HOME:

Tonight's game is the beginning of a three-game home-stand for New York ... The Liberty will face the Sparks on 7/9 and the Dream on 7/11 before hitting the road for the sixth time this season ... The month will wrap with the team's second three-game home-stand of the season from 7/23-7/30.

CONFERENCE FINALS RE-MATCH:

New York and Detroit faced off in the Eastern Conference Finals last season ... After capturing Game One at The Garden, the Liberty fell in the next two games as the Shock went onto win the Finals ... It was New York's first trip to the Conference Finals since 2004.
