
Lewis Ratcliff Named Overall Player Of The Week

Washington Stealth Forward Lewis Ratliff was named the National Lacrosse League's Overall Player of the Week for Week #12 of the 2010 NLL Season. Ratcliff had a big weekend, totaling 13 points through Washington's two games against the Colorado Mammoth. On Friday, Ratcliff scored six points with five goals and one assist to lead the Stealth to a 15-14 win at Colorado. He followed it up on Saturday with a seven point performance including six goals and one assist in a 12-9 win at home to clinch a playoff berth for the Stealth. Ratcliff also won this week's Offensive Player of the week, his second of the season. The Week #12 NLL schedule consisted of games played on the weekend of March 26-27.
Philadelphia Wings Goaltender Brandon Miller was named Defensive Player of the Week. Miller did his part for the Wings in solidifying their second straight win. He allowed only seven goals, saving 36 of the 43 shots he faced in the game. With the team down 5-4 at the half, Miller gave up only two second half goals on 23 shots faced, sparking the Wings to a 13-7 win over the Boston Blazers.
The Transition Player of the Week was Paul Rabil of the Washington Stealth. Rabil was pivotal for the Stealth in his transition roll. In the first of two games this past weekend, Rabil dished out four assists and picked up five loose balls in a 15-14 win at Colorado on Friday. In Saturday's game, Rabil scored a goal and added two assists and picked up six loose balls. The second assist for Rabil was on the go ahead goal for the Stealth, who won 12-9 to sweep the weekend and clinched the playoff berth.
Colorado Mammoth Forward Alex Gajic was named Rookie of the Week. Gajic was a bright spot for the Mammoth despite losing twice to the Stealth this past weekend. In Friday's game, Gajic scored six goals and an assist in a 15-14 loss. He added two assists in Saturday's 12-9 loss at Washington. The NLL Weekly Player Awards are determined each week by a vote of the General Managers & Head Coaches of the league's eleven member clubs.
