
Legends Sign Former UALBANY Star Will Harris

The IBL ¬â¢s Albany Legends have announced today that UALBANY Great Dane star, 6'6" 230 lbs F Will Harris has come to contract terms with the Albany Legends for the 2011 season. The 2nd Team America East All Conference standout averaged 5.4 rebounds per game and 12.8 ppg for two seasons with the Danes after transferring from the University of Virginia in 2008. He had a career game high 26 point against Hartford in AEC action on Feb 28, 2010.
"We are thrilled to have a player of Will's caliber and popularity joining the Legends to help us in the defense of our 2010 IBL Championship. A player like Will can do a lot of things for us and he will be exciting to watch at this level. We are very excited that Will has decided to join the Albany Legends" said Coach Ben Smith.
Steve Miller remarked "Harris is just the right fit for what we are trying to accomplish here in Albany. A very talented ball player who has a bright future at the professionallevel and an electric personality that promises to be a fan favorite. Will Harris is a great addition for the Albany Legends and we could not be happier."
Harris joins former Dane's teammate Scotty McRae on this year's roster. McRae played briefly for the Legends in 2010 before a minor injury sidelined him for the remainder of the 2010 season but he is now back to 100% and looking forward to joining his former teammate, here in the IBL.
Fans can seem them both in action on Saturday night, March 26 at 6pm at Fulton Montgomery Community College in the Albany Legend's Blue Gold exhibition scrimmage "EJ Gallup Night" to benefit the college's athletic program. Admission is $2 and tickets are available at the door
