Albany Legends News Release
The Albany Legends traveled today to Portland, Oregon for the 2010 IBL Championship Tournament.
The 15-3 Legends are currently the IBL's top seed with the 14-4, #2 seed, LA Lightning trailing by 1 game in the Continental Division Standings.
To add to the excitement, both LA and Albany have 1 regular season game remaining with LA facing the 3rd seed, 16-5 Olympia Reign (International Division). The Legends go head to head with the 11-10 Yamhill High Flyers, also on June 30 in Oregon, just before the playoffs.
The playoffs begin Thursday July 1 with Albany already clinching a bye for that first round. The playoffs are a bracket format with the two bracket winners facing each other in a best of 3 series in one of the two winner's home town (later in July). The playoffs leading up to the championship series are held in Portland, Oregon on July 1-3. This structure helps keep expenses down for participating teams and also allows for professional and overseas scouts to see the majority of the IBL's talent in one place over the course of 3 days!
