Canton Legends News Release
The Canton Legends of the Atlantic Indoor Football League have announced Ryan Nolan has joined the franchise as General Manager.
The team have also promoted Lynn Mickles to Vice President of Operations.
Nolan is a 1988 graduate of Steubenville Catholic High School in Steubenville, OH. He had a successful college golf career at Walsh College in Canton from 1988-1992.
He later turned professional and played on several mini-tours nationwide before suffering a career-ending injury. He then taught gold in the metro area of Cleveland.
He left the golf business in 1994 to pursue other business ventures and entered the financial industry, earning a stockbroker's license with Dean Witter (now Morgan Stanley).
Keeping his love for sports, Nolan became involved with 4th Down Sports, a nationally recognized high, school, college and pro kicking and punting development school.
Nolan currently works as assistant football coach at Malone College, where he coaches kickers and punters for head coach Dan Hanson.
Nolan holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Indiana University.
He is married to his wife, Janet, and they have a son, Darius.
"I think this is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of something huge for the city of Canton and other cities that currently have teams in our league," Nolan said.
"(AIFL President and Canton Legends owner) Andrew Haines has a vision and plan for what he wants to accomplish and I feel that this chance to help he and his staff is what it will take to put our team and league on the map for a long time to come."
