Legends Get Best of Soldiers Again

Game Three of the Series between the Legends and the Kankakee County Soldiers started with the Legends up by a half a game over the Los Angeles Lightning. The Legends jumped out to a 12-6 lead via missed jumped shots by the Soldiers. Gordon Klaiber led the way hitting some key 3 pointers. Damone Morris had 9 points including some nice footwork to get to the lane get the foul making the basket and the freethrow. For the Soldiers Eric Rhinehart and Aaron Harrison pace the way with 6 as the Legends took a 30 24 lead at the quarter. The Second half saw newcomer Rashad Hill go flying in the air. The first called back for basket interference but the other two were hard throw downs one of which was over Soldier player Ryan Edwards and the other on a breakaway pass off a steal by Lloyd Johnson. Speaking of Johnson he was dropping threes as if it was his job. Making 4 in a row of his 5 attempts. Ryan Edwards was making some key shots trying to keep it under ten. Edwards had 15 points to lead the Soldiers. Rashad Woods has 16, 13 of which in the second quarter and Lloyd Johnson had all 16 of his first half points in the Second as well as the Legends took a 4 point lead into the break. The Third quarter saw each team trade baskets and possessions as each team got 33 points in the stanza. Ryan Edwards continued his scoring ways as the leading scorer in the league as he now has 26 to start the fourth. Erik Rhinehart followed suit with 21. Rashad Woods once again came through in the third quarter scoring 9 more to bring his total to 25. As the Legends take a 93-89 lead into the final quarter. The Final quarter saw a lot of excitement as the Legends once again proved the fourth quarter is and will always be theirs. The most exciting point was with 8 seconds left as Jermaine Tate gave a high bounce pass to Lloyd Johnson as he went up for the ball and slammed it home on Barry Bradford who got called for a Flagrant 1 on the play. The Legends were led by Rashad Woods who had 29 points and game high 14 boards. Damone Morris had 27 points, Lloyd Johnson had 23 points and Gordon Klaiber had 21 points and 9 rebounds. For the Soldiers Ryan Edwards once again led the way with a game high 36 points as the Albany Legends kept sole possession of first place with the completion of a 3 game sweep over the Kankakee County Soldier by a final score of 128-115. The Legends will now go on the road for 5 games as their successful home season going 13-2 is over at the Washington Avenue Armory.
