Legends come out on top

The IBL Championship comes down to a 1 game Final between the number 4 seed Bellingham Slam (15-7) and the number 1 seed Albany Legends (18-3). The pace was hot to start off the first quarter as the Legends jumped out to a quick lead. The Slam through turnovers were able to jump up to a 2 point lead but with Kenny Satterfield's 2 steals the Legends jumped up to a 20-16 lead with 2:18 to go. Then a huge Three by Slam Tyler Amaya started off a 10-2 run. As the end of the first quarter ended 26-24 in favor of the Slam. The second quarter was a turnover frenzy seeing a combined total of 18 turnovers by both teams. The biggest highlight of the Quarter was a open breakaway by Slam Ryan Diggs which was swatted away to the amazement of the crowd by Damone Morris. Kenny Satterfield leads the way of all shooters with 12 points 2 rebounds and 4 assists, Rashad Woods has 8 points 4 rebounds and 2 assists, Jermaine Tate had 6 points and 6 boards and Deandre Thomas leads the way on the boards with 6 rebounds contirbuting with 4 points. Ryan Diggs leads the way with 7 points and 2 rebounds and Derrick Webb had 6 points with 4 boards. As the Legends took a halftime lead of 48-45. The third quarter saw 4 technicals including an ejection by Slam Ike O'Hanson. The Legends took an 85-81 lead. The fourth quarter showed why the 2010 Champions are the Albany Legends. Damone Morris had 2 steal and dunks in which one of them was a full 360 slam dunk. The Legends kept it going with defense and rebounds as DeAndre Thomas added another 5 rebounds to his total and Kenny Satterfield added a few of his own. Evan Lane put up some more rebounds to bring his total to 6 with Thomas leading the way with 19 putting up 21 points for a double double night. Kenny Satterfield paced the way for the Legends with 30 points and 7 assists. As the Albany Legends in their first season of the IBL win the championship 126-111 over the Bellingham Slam. MVP of the game was DeAndre Thomas with 21 points and 19 rebounds.
