Canton Legends News Release
CANTON, Ohio â A familiar face for Andrew Haines, owner of The Canton Legends and the Atlantic Indoor Football League is on the training camp roster for The Legends this year. Doug Pearson played for Haines last year in the National Indoor Football League (NIFL) where he didn't get to finish the season because he had to leave for Iraq.
"Pearson was an asset to the NIFL and the bravery he showed serving our country is astounding," said Haines. "I am excited to have him with us in Canton; we are always looking for character individuals like Pearson."
Pearson was a Marine and left for Iraq in August of last year to serve our country. He returned in February.
"It was a great honor to be able to serve my country for 7 months and now I am very excited to be a Canton Legend," said Pearson. "I have been looking forward to playing a full season ever since the last season I started got cut short in August because he had to leave for Iraq."
