(San Jose, CA, March 8, 2007) --- The San Jose Stealth have invited students from the forty Bay Area schools in the Sticks-2-Schools program to participate in an inaugural "Learn-2-Play Lax" Day at HP Pavilion on Saturday, March 17 from 3 - 6 p.m.

The Stealth teamed with Sticks-2-Schools Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children achieve a healthy balance of mind and body, to create an event where up to 300 youth, along with their parents and teachers, can learn more about lacrosse. The youth will be escorted through six circuits consisting of a Coaches Chalk Talk with Stealth Head Coach Walt Christianson, a behind-the-scenes tour of HP Pavilion, an educational lacrosse video, Stealth sign making, a skills clinic on the turf, and a lacrosse safety session during the event. After the circuits, the Stealth will host a BBQ and invite attendees to watch a pre-game shoot around. The evening concludes with the Stealth vs. LumberJax game starting at 7:30 p.m.

"What better way to get kids excited about playing lacrosse at school than to invite them into the home of the Stealth for a VIP look-behind-the-scenes," said Eric Venzon, CEO of TEAMWRKX and co-founder of Sticks-2-Schools. "We're grateful to our business community and SVS&E for supporting Sticks-2-Schools' mission to help children combat childhood obesity by getting fit and staying healthy."

Forty schools throughout the Bay Area that have integrated lacrosse in their physical education curriculum or after-school activities through the Sticks-2-Schools program received an exclusive invite to participate in this event. Schools in the program are paired with local business sponsors who donate the funds to cover 20 sets of soft lacrosse balls, Rotor lacrosse sticks, a U.S. Lacrosse Physical Education Curriculum Manual and a guest appearance by a Stealth player.

"This event will be a fun combination of education and lacrosse," said Stealth General Manager Johnny Mouradian. "I'm proud to welcome the students, parents and staff from schools that have chosen to embrace lacrosse in their curriculum through the Sticks-2-Schools Program."
